Although Allison has enjoyed a G&T for more years than she would care to share, it was a chance visit to a local gin distillery that ignited a much deeper interest in gin. This resulted in her setting up her blog, GinSquares, in early 2018, where she shares her passion for all things gin, cocktails and photography.

Being a keen traveller, she has amassed a large collection of gin from around the world. During lockdown she travelled vicariously through her collection and posted several virtual gin tours on her blog: 80 Days Around The World; 6 Weeks Around Europe; and A Month Around Scotland. These are not just reviews or tasting notes, but a unique and creative angle on the stories behind and around the brands, as well as their locations.

Allison holds a WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits and puts this to good use as an enthusiastic judge on panels for the World Gin Awards, Gin Masters and The Gin Co-Operative Awards (Scotland).
